Will Smith
Founder & Partner
Will grew up in Buffalo, New York, and has called Texas home for nearly two decades. After ten years working as a pool cleaner, he launched DFW Poolsmith in 2018 with just 15 clients. Through dedication, exceptional service, and genuine care for his customers, Will grew the business to over 200 weekly clients by 2021.
In 2022, he welcomed a business partner and rebranded the company as Premium Poolsmith, continuing his mission to deliver unmatched service across the DFW area.
A U.S. Marine Corps veteran, Will lives by the principles of discipline, respect, and service to others — values also strengthened through his journey in recovery. He strives to treat others the way he’d want to be treated and finds purpose in helping others restore balance and joy in their lives. When he’s not working, Will stays active and enjoys watching football.

Devon Thompson
Partner & Repair Specialist
Devon joined the team in early 2021 and has been instrumental in expanding Premium Poolsmith’s repair services. With over seven years of hands-on industry experience, he previously worked as an independent subcontractor supporting five different companies, managing warranty claims, and collaborating directly with major pool equipment distributors. His strong vendor relationships continue to benefit Premium Poolsmith customers today.
Originally from Missouri, Devon moved to Texas in 2013. Before entering the pool industry, he trained in culinary arts and worked in restaurant management — but his natural curiosity and passion for understanding how things work led him to pool maintenance and repairs.
Premium Poolsmith currently services over 500 weekly customers.

Will Smith
Will grew up in Buffalo, NY and has lived in Texas for 18 years. He worked as a pool cleaner for close to ten years before starting DFW Poolsmith in 2018 with 15 clients.
He has since expanded to over 500 weekly customers. He is service driven and goes to great lengths to extend this to his customers. At the outset of 2022, Will brought on a partner to continue this pursuit and changed the name to Premium Poolsmith.
Will lives by the principles he was taught in the Marine Corp and in recovery. He aims to treat others as he would want to be treated and has a passion for seeing lives restored. He is diligent about staying fit and enjoys watching football.

Devon Thompson
Devon joined our team in early 2021, and has partnered with Will in launching Premium Poolsmith to head up the repair side of the company.
He has seven years of extensive experience in the industry and formerly served as an independent sub-contractor with a network of five companies, working directly with distributors on warranties for all brands. These vendor relations have been an asset to our customers.
Devon grew up in Missouri, but moved to Texas in 2013. He started his career in restaurant management and trained in culinary arts, but his love of how things work is how he transitioned into pool maintenance and repairs.


Janice Seydel
Janice holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of North Texas, and owned her own business for 16 years before working for other small companies in administrative/leadership roles.
She joined our staff in the summer of 2021 as Operations Manager and strives to provide a great customer experience. She is a native Texan, and grew up in Irving. She and her husband of over 30 years have three sons and currently live in Flower Mound. She enjoys cooking, design, and gardening in her spare time.
