How often do I need to have my pool filter cleaned?
The cleaning frequency for pool filters varies based on the type. Sand filters typically need backwashing when pressure increases 8-10 PSI above normal, with an annual deep clean. Cartridge filters generally require cleaning every 2-3 months and replacement every 2-3 years. DE filters should be backwashed when pressure rises 8-10 PSI, with thorough grid cleaning 1-2 times per year. For specific advice on your filtration system, please don't hesitate to contact us.Why won't my pump prime?
Several factors can prevent pump priming: low water levels, air in the system, a clogged impeller, or a suction-side leak. Other possibilities include closed valves, dirty skimmer baskets impeding water flow, a failing pump lid O-ring, or a worn pump motor. Our technicians can quickly identify the specific issue and often resolve it during the initial visit, ensuring your system operates correctly. How often should I have my pool cleaned?
For most residential pools, we recommend weekly maintenance. This regular service ensures proper chemical balance, prevents algae growth, removes debris before it causes damage, and allows early detection of potential equipment issues. Weekly cleaning maintains water clarity and sanitation while extending the lifespan of your pool surfaces and equipment. During high-use periods or extreme weather conditions, more frequent service may be beneficial.Do I need to be home during the maintenance visit?
Your presence isn't required during maintenance visits, provided we have access to your pool and equipment area. Many clients provide us with secure gate codes. We'll send you a confirmation once the service is completed. What services are included in your weekly maintenance package?
Our standard weekly maintenance package includes comprehensive care for your pool. We perform water testing and chemical balancing, skim debris, empty skimmer and pump baskets, brush pool walls and steps, vacuum the pool floor, check equipment functionality, and inspect for potential issues. After each visit, we provide a detailed digital report for your records. What makes your pool service different from others?
Our service stands out because we not only care about how we maintain your pool, but also your trust. Our certified technicians undergo continuous training to stay updated with the latest pool technology and maintenance techniques. We stand behind our services and will do everything reasonable to correct any issues with your service whether it’s service or repair related.
Do you provide one-time services or short-term maintenance?
Yes. There are many scenarios where we might provide a one-time cleaning, from assisting a homeowner recovering from recent surgery to servicing a pool for a realtor wanting to make a property ready for sale. We also provide services for some pool owners who maintain their pools while on vacation or out of the country on business. This gives them peace of mind that everything will be in excellent shape when they return.
How do you handle vacation coverage?
We offer flexible scheduling to accommodate your vacation plans. For extended absences, we can increase visit frequency or schedule additional chemical checks. We recommend informing us at least one week before your departure to allow us to adjust our maintenance plan accordingly.I just bought a new home and the pool is green from neglect. Can you drain and clean it?
Absolutely, we can restore your neglected pool to pristine condition. Our comprehensive restoration process includes draining the contaminated water, professionally cleaning surfaces to eliminate algae and stains, inspecting all equipment, performing necessary repairs, refilling with fresh water, and properly balancing chemicals. We'll transform your green pool into a sparkling oasis you can enjoy with confidence. We also offer ongoing maintenance plans to prevent future issues. Why do I need to drain my pool if the cyanuric acid is too high?
Excessive cyanuric acid (CYA) levels cannot be reduced through chemical treatment alone. When CYA exceeds 100 ppm, it can render chlorine ineffective against algae and bacteria, regardless of chlorine levels. This condition, known as "chlorine lock," compromises water sanitation and safety. Partial or complete draining is the only effective method to dilute and reduce CYA to appropriate levels (30-50 ppm), restoring proper chlorine effectiveness.
